Tekst:Josip Josef Mayer
Pogledajmo oko sebe. Povijest nas uči da rat
nikada nije donio trajan mir, a sadašnjost – osobito tragični rat u Ukrajini –
pokazuje svu besmislenost nasilja. Plaćenici, strane sile i ratne industrije
ljudsku psihu, dušu i nadu.
Ratovi ne prestaju završetkom borbi. Oni ostavljaju trajne rane. Ljudi postaju
tjeskobni, depresivni, izgubljeni.
savjest i suradnja.
Zato vjerujem u novu ulogu umjetne inteligencije u službi mira. I zato
pokrenemo – ako umjetna inteligencija krene putem ratovanja, umjesto
iscjeljivanja – budućnost će možda imati oružje, ali neće imati čovjeka.
Englisch:
ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE IS NOT TRULY INTELLIGENT IF IT ALLOWS ITSELF TO BE USED FOR WAR
In these deeply troubling times – marked by threats of new wars, natural disasters, epidemics, fires, and floods – humanity faces a profound question:What kind of future are we building, and what role will artificial intelligence (AI) play in it?
AI cannot
and must not be called intelligent if it allows itself to be integrated into
weapons that kill, destroy, and spread fear.If technology serves destruction,
it no longer serves humanity. And whatever no longer serves humanity – stands against the dignity of life.
I am grateful that AI
allows me to write and share this message. Without it – without this new means
of communication – I might never have found the right way to say this. But that’s exactly why I believe even more
strongly:AI must remain in the service of life – especially in medicine,
humanitarian efforts, and everything that protects and uplifts the human being.AI
should be an ally of hope, not an instrument of fear.
History has
shown us that war never brings lasting peace. And the present – particularly
the devastating war in Ukraine – clearly shows how senseless violence is.Mercenaries,
foreign powers, and the war industry have no interest in peace – only in profit and power. The result?Destroyed
cities. Shattered lives. Broken minds and lost futures.
Wars don’t end with a ceasefire. Their
psychological damage continues long after the last bullet is fired. People
suffer from anxiety, depression, and fear. They lose the ability to live normal
lives. And this, too, is a form of destruction – the slow collapse of human reason and dignity.
So we must ask:What
happens to soldiers when the war ends? How do we restore them to their families,
their communities, their peace?
If AI also falls into this machinery of
destruction, who will remain to help us? Who will save us?
Even a sincere prayer – like that of Pope Leo XIV, who prays for peace in Ukraine and across the world – though powerful, is not enough on its own.We need serious action. Responsibility. Collaboration between people, science, technology, and conscience.
This is why I believe
in the future role of AI in peacebuilding.
And this is why I support the
initiative:“Marshall Plan for Croatia – expanded to Europe,”
as a bridge of solidarity, wisdom,
and hope, where AI serves people – not war.
If we do not act now,f we allow AI to follow
the path of weapons instead of healing, the future may have machines – but it will have lost humanity.
