Komentar na temu:Hrvatska dijaspora i gospodarstvo:
Tekst:Josip Josef Mayer
ključne elemente modernog gospodarstva – znanje, iskustvo i kapital.
Njemačka – Inspiracija i partner
tehnologije i brendiranje domaćih proizvoda.
izazov. Jačanje gospodarskih odnosa sa zemljama zapadnog Balkana kroz
infrastrukturalne projekte, trgovinsku suradnju i smanjenje birokratskih
barijera može Hrvatskoj donijeti ulogu gospodarskog lidera u ovom dijelu
Europe.
COMMENT ON
THE TOPIC: CROATIAN DIASPORA AND THE ECONOMY
Title that
inspired further reflections: "Croatia could become a leading power in the
region, just as Germany leads within the EU"
Zdenko
Štriga and the Croatian Diaspora – A Force for the Future
Mr. Zdenko Štriga, through his analyses and work as an advisor to the Croatian
Government, clearly highlights the immense potential of the Croatian diaspora
in shaping a better economic future for Croatia. His focus on innovation,
investment, and the return of professionals from the diaspora is particularly
significant as it connects the key elements of a modern economy – knowledge,
experience, and capital.
Germany –
An Inspiration and Partner
Germany, as the engine of the European Union, can serve as a model for
Croatia in terms of strategic planning and leveraging opportunities within the
shared European market. Germany’s leadership is not solely based on economic
strength but also on investments in innovation, research, and strategic partnerships
with neighboring countries. Croatia could follow a similar path, emphasizing
quality over quantity, which would include investments in education, high
technologies, and the branding of domestic products.
The Return
of the Diaspora – A Key to Success
It is crucial to recognize the potential of the
Croatian diaspora not only as a source of financial support but also as a
bridge to global innovations and markets. Returnees from the diaspora, equipped
with business experience and resources, can act as catalysts for change and
growth in critical sectors such as technology, tourism, and agriculture. The
examples of Israel and Ireland demonstrate how vital the diaspora can be in
driving a country’s economic development.
The Region
as an Opportunity
Croatia must view the region as an opportunity rather than a challenge.
Strengthening economic relations with Western Balkan countries through
infrastructure projects, trade cooperation, and reducing bureaucratic barriers
could position Croatia as an economic leader in this part of Europe.
Conclusion
With visionaries like Mr. Štriga and a strategic focus on the return of
the diaspora, quality investments, and regional cooperation, Croatia has the
potential to become an economic power in the region. However, achieving this
requires political stability, long-term vision, and active collaboration
between the government, the private sector, and expatriates.
